Why should you donate? There are two very simple reasons. Firstly, it shows support for the work the Aeon of Darkness team does. By seeing that people are willing to spend their own money for work we do encourages us to do more. More importantly however, donations help fund the essential resources needed to continue Aeon of Darkness.
Currently, $21.60 US dollars are spent every three months to fund the server. I (Mordeca) devote much time to development and management of Aeon of Darkness and lack the necessary monetary resources to effectively fund this program. Donations will inspire me to provide more to the Aeon of Darkness community. Currently the server is fairly cheap, but if development is to continue, more services will likely be required to purchase.

If enough money is donated, there will be excess (above the current debt for minimum server costs) money that can be thrown towards getting these extra services, which will enhance the MUDding experience.
